Using Exercise to Increase Self-Worth

Sacrifices

Some of us sacrifice our hobbies and health for things like work and family.

We validate our decisions because we are selfless and find merit in choosing those we love or careers we have committed to - over ourselves.

When this happens long term, we lose sight of how important we may actually be to those people or that company.

Our lab results become… less ideal, we may gain some weight, experience more tiredness, and have bouts of irritability.

Then, we don’t want to burden anyone so we keep it to ourselves.

Forgetful Gym Owner

I’m an entrepreneur. Sometimes I forget to workout or do things I enjoy. I validate these decisions by saying I’ll do it tomorrow or “not having time.”

The ‘catch’ to this way of thinking is that exercise supports better bouts of deep work and focus. Better concentration is always desired.

Also, exercising releases suppressed stress through a combination of mental, emotional, and physical exertion - all tied together.

Results

I think looking good is cool. So is being fit, or strong, or fast,etc.. but taking the time to do something that benefits me overall is essential to overall happiness.

I like to work with people over 40 because they are at the age where they may have kids, their work responsibilities are more demanding, their health may be changing, and their long term life desires are changing.

I want people to enjoy the later parts of life more than the beginning of it. That’s why I teach them how to move without pain, set more valuable goals, and know that the time dedicated to themselves is worth it.

Everytime you decide to walk into a gym and exercise, you are doing something for yourself.

If you read this and need to make that next move for yourself, come see us or email me @info@gameday.fitness
